Two powerful voices in classical guitar music – Fred Holmlund and Alvi Joensen – come together in an exciting and heartfelt musical duo.
Both have studied under the world-renowned guitar professor Göran Söllscher and now bring their high-quality craftsmanship and artistic vision to the stage. With a deep passion for chamber music and a genuine belief that music should move you – not just be heard – they focus on creating unique concert experiences, regardless of the genre on the program.

Fred Holmlund
Fred Holmlund made his solo debut at Malmö Live together with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra (MSO), where he performed the world-famous Concierto de Aranjuez. He has also won awards in several competitions and received major and prestigious study grants – including the renowned Rosenborg–Gehrmans scholarship.
In 2022, the expert panel at the Royal College of Music honored him with the following words:

Alvi Joensen
Alvi Joensen is a guitarist and composer with a fascination for the unknown, the macabre – and for humor. As a performer, he focuses on curating new works and enjoys playing pieces that teeter on the edge of being forgotten. As a composer, he explores the boundary between tonality and atonality, constantly seeking new sounds, timbres, and modes of expression.
